Other Galleries

The LdSH (RC) and PPCLI regiments have since moved from the Calgary garrison to quarters in Edmonton.

The museum houses four galleries devoted to these four regiments, as well as a gallery devoted to the history of all military units in Alberta. Life size dioramas in the entryway to the museum highlight the four regiments, and there are several displays on the outdoor grounds of the museum, including an eternal flame, larger-than-life statues, and a collection of tanks, armoured cars and anti-tank guns.

Tho memorial stained glass windows featuring 1944 and 1991 badges were dedicated by the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers Association of Alberta to members of the Electrical Mechanical Engineers Branch and its predecessors.

The Founder's Gallery was officially opened in June 2009 by Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.

Famous quotes containing the word galleries:

I have got enough of the old masters! Brown says he has “shook” them, and I think I will shake them, too. You wander through a mile of picture galleries and stare stupidly at ghastly old nightmares done in lampblack and lightning, and listen to the ecstatic encomiums of the guides, and try to get up some enthusiasm, but it won’t come.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
