The Mac Weekly

The Mac Weekly is the student newspaper of Macalester College. It has a circulation of 1,600 and was established in 1914. The paper publishes twelve or thirteen volumes, ranging from 16 to 24 pages, each semester.

The paper's staff are mostly volunteers, with the exception of the editor in chief, the web manager and the advertising editor who receive payment from the college. A satirical section, The Mock Weekly, is added to the last issue of each semester. The paper has published a magazine three times, in April 2006, March 2007 and November 2007.

Famous quotes containing the word weekly:

Henry David Thoreau, who never earned much of a living or sustained a relationship with any woman that wasn’t brotherly—who lived mostly under his parents’ roof ... who advocated one day’s work and six days “off” as the weekly round and was considered a bit of a fool in his hometown ... is probably the American writer who tells us best how to live comfortably with our most constant companion, ourselves.
    Edward Hoagland (b. 1932)
