The Lawyers' Christian Fellowship

The Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship is a Christian organisation in the United Kingdom which professes a membership of more than 2,000 Christian lawyers. The organisation has a wide-ranging vision, including evangelism, discipleship, prayer, integrity and cultural engagement. They also seek to influence social change by actively lobbying the British Government on issues that are central to its Biblically informed value system: these issues include abortion, gay rights, sex before marriage, and the enforcing of laws relating to blasphemy. In 2008 they attempted to influence the outcome of voting on the passing of the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Bill.

Famous quotes containing the words christian and/or fellowship:

I am a Christian according to my conscience in belief, ... in purpose and wish;Mnot of course by the orthodox standard. But I am content, and have a feeling of trust and safety.
The Machiavellian mind and the merchant mind are at one in their simple faith in the power of segmental division to rule all—in the dichotomy of power and morals and of money and morals.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)

And sometimes I remember days of old
When fellowship seemed not so far to seek,
And all the world and I seemed much less cold,
And at the rainbow’s foot lay surely gold,
And hope felt strong, and life itself not weak.
    Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830–1894)
