The Id (album)
The Id is the second studio album by American recording artist Macy Gray. It was released in the United States on September 18, 2001 by Epic Records, a week after the September 11, 2001 attacks, perhaps the main reason for its domestic underperformance; it debuted and peaked at number eleven on the Billboard 200 selling 93,000 copies in its first week, but fell to number eighteen the following week, and has sold 593,000 copies in the US to date. Nevertheless, The Id outpeaked its predecessor, On How Life Is, in several European countries, reaching the top position in the United Kingdom and Denmark. It also managed to produce the critically acclaimed single "Sweet Baby", which features fellow neo soul singer Erykah Badu.
The Tom Morello mix of "My Nutmeg Phantasy" was included on the soundtrack to the 2002 film Spider-Man, and "Relating to a Psychopath" was featured in the 2002 Disney Channel Original Movie Cadet Kelly.
