The Friendly Traveler
Felix Hwang (born 1975 in San Francisco, California, USA), better known by the name of Friendly Traveler, is a hip hop record producer, DJ, and composer. He is a featured DJ at the Stanford University-based radio station, KZSU.
Friendly Traveler started out in the mid 90's as a hip hop producer. With his colleague Ainzboogie, the tandem of producers was known as Hidden Artifacts: Findas of Lost Beats. In 1996, they started their own record label, Distorted Echo Recordings. During this time, Friendly Traveler collaborated with Bay Area-based emcee, LT, and formed the duo, LT & the Friendly Traveler. LT & the Friendly Traveler released an EP (Equilibrium) in 2000 and a full-length album (Most Likely...) in 2002.
During the recording of Most Likely..., Friendly Traveler began to DJ. Being a self-taught DJ caught the attention of Kevvy Kev, the host of KZSU's hip-hop show, The Drum. Friendly Traveler soon became a resident DJ and is now an integral part of the show.
In 2006, he was commissioned to compose original music for the feature film X's and O's.

Famous quotes containing the words friendly and/or traveler:
“Americans are very friendly and very suspicious, that is
what Americans are and that is what always upsets the
foreigner, who deals with them, they are so friendly
how can they be so suspicious and they are so
suspicious how can they be so friendly but they just
are and that certainly has something to do with their
having tucked their capital, their capitals away.”
—Gertrude Stein (18741946)
“It is remarkable, but on the whole, perhaps, not to be lamented, that the world is so unkind to a new book. Any distinguished traveler who comes to our shores is likely to get more dinners and speeches of welcome than he can well dispose of, but the best books, if noticed at all, meet with coldness and suspicion, or, what is worse, gratuitous, off-hand criticism.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
