The Fly (1986 film)
The Fly is a 1986 American science fiction horror film co-written and directed by David Cronenberg. Produced by 20th Century Fox, and Brooksfilms, the film stars Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis and John Getz. It is a remake of the 1958 film The Fly, but retains only the basic premise of a scientist accidentally merging with a housefly during a teleportation experiment. Some critics saw the film as a metaphor for the AIDS epidemic. The score was composed by Howard Shore and the make-up effects were created by Chris Walas, who won the Academy Award for Best Makeup.
