This is the first verse of the eighth and final part of Charles Baudelaire's poem "Le Voyage," from Les Fleurs du Mal. It is found in the title page of Chapter Fourteen. It was translated by William Aggeler:
O Death, old captain, it is time! Let us lift the anchor!
This country wearies us, O Death! Let us set sail!
Though the sea and the sky are black as ink,
Our hearts which you know well are filled with rays of light!
