The David Lee Roth Show - Howard Stern's Reaction

Howard Stern's Reaction

Howard Stern has stated that David Lee Roth's Van Halen - Van Halen's original incarnation - is his favorite rock and roll band of all-time, and also that he "likes David Lee Roth" on a personal level. Regarding the David Lee Roth Show, Stern stated in a 2010 interview with former CBS executive Rob Barnett, he knew that the show would fail when didn't seem to grasp the idea that talking to a radio audience is different than talking to the crowd at a rock concert. "He looked at me with a blank stare," said Stern, "like he wasn't concerned."

Famous quotes containing the words howard, stern and/or reaction:

I sincerely hope that the incoming Congress will be alive, as it should be, to the importance of our foreign trade and of encouraging it in every way feasible. The possibility of increasing this trade in the Orient, in the Philippines, and in South America is known to everyone who has given the matter attention.
    —William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

We tried pathetic appeals to the wandering waiters, who told us “they are coming, Sir” in a soothing tone—and we tried stern remonstrance, & they then said “they are coming, Sir” in a more injured tone; & after all such appeals they retired into their dens, and hid themselves behind sideboards and dish-covers, still the chops came not. We agreed that of all virtues a waiter can display, that of a retiring disposition is quite the least desirable.
Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (1832–1898)

An actor must communicate his author’s given message—comedy, tragedy, serio- comedy; then comes his unique moment, as he is confronted by the looked-for, yet at times unexpected, reaction of the audience. This split second is his; he is in command of his medium; the effect vanishes into thin air; but that moment has a power all its own and, like power in any form, is stimulating and alluring.
    Eleanor Robson Belmont (1878–1979)
