Sequel
On February 7, 2011, a sequel was confirmed for release in early 2012 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The original developers, Starbreeze Studios, were confirmed not to be behind the sequel, as they were busy working on Syndicate. It was later announced Digital Extremes would develop the sequel. Later that month, record label Ipecac Recordings confirmed that Mike Patton will be returning as the voice of The Darkness.
On June 6, 2011, The Darkness II was given a release date of October 4, 2011. However, it was delayed and eventually released on February 7, 2012 in North America, February 10, 2012 in Europe and Australia and February 23, 2012 in Japan.
