Famous quotes containing the word magazine:

If to be masculine is to be smart, do let [woman] try; or are you afraid, if she has the chance, that a few of your laurels will droop?
    M.C. R., U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Revolution (March 19, 1868)

The world has already learned that woman has other virtues than meekness, patience, humility and endurance. She possesses courage above all fear, and a will that knows no obstacles; and when these are called forth by some great emergency, false modesty is trampled in the dust, and spheres are scattered to the winds.
    A. Holley, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Lily, p. 38 (May 1852)

The Husband of To-Day ever considers his wife but as a portion of his my-ship.
    Nominative I.
    Possessive My, or Mine.
    Objective Me.
This is the grammar known to the Husband of To-Day.
Anonymous, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Revolution (June 24, 1869)
