Replica
On 31 December 2011 the Nao Victoria Museum in Punta Arenas announced the building of the first full-size replica of HMS Beagle. Construction began on 1 November 2012, using Nothofagus dombeyi timber from the local rainforest. In 2013 the Chilean national press started to get interest in the work in progress.
