The Anarchist Cookbook (film) - Production

Production

The film's budget and schedule are used extensively (and reproduced) in Robert Latham Brown's book Planning the Low-Budget Film. It was shot in Dallas, Texas, during the summer of 2001 for just under $2,000,000.

In an interview, director commented that inspirations for the film included "Animal House, Battle of Algiers and Duck Soup... Everywhere Chico and Harpo Marx went, anarchy ensued. When they spread their anarchy, it was the most joyous thing you had ever seen. I made (lead actor Devon Gummersall) watch Duck Soup, and he saw what I wanted to show, which was a sense of personal freedom and autonomy."

Famous quotes containing the word production:

[T]he asphaltum contains an exactly requisite amount of sulphides for production of rubber tires. This brown material also contains “ichthyol,” a medicinal preparation used externally, in Webster’s clarifying phrase, “as an alterant and discutient.”
State of Utah, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

The repossession by women of our bodies will bring far more essential change to human society than the seizing of the means of production by workers.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)

... this dream that men shall cease to waste strength in competition and shall come to pool their powers of production is coming to pass all over the earth.
    Jane Addams (1860–1935)
