The first adaptation of the novel was the 1965 film The Alphabet Murders with Tony Randall as Hercule Poirot.

The story of the Malayalam film Grandmaster (film) draws inspirations from The A.B.C. Murders. The characterisation of Chandrasekhar in the movie is essayed by Indian Movie veteran Mohanlal is also inspired from Hercule Poirot, the protagonist of the novel.
