Thayer is located at 41°10′24″N 87°20′01″W / 41.17333°N 87.33361°W / 41.17333; -87.33361. The town includes commodities such as a little store called Stop To Shop, a bar called Pop O's, a used car dealership,a post office, and an old hairdressing business. Local residents sometimes kid that it is a "blink and you miss it" type of town.
