Temples in The Town

Two famous temples are located in Thammampatti. One is the Kashi Vishwanathar Aalayam, where the river Swetha flows as like, Ganges flow in Varanasi. In this temple the Aavudayar is in square shape which is very rare to find elsewhere. History says that, Pancha Pandavas visited Thammampatti (Ancient name - Dharuma Nagar) and had holy water in river Swetha. After about five generations, this temple underwent Kumbhabhishekam. Second is Sri Ukra Khadali Narasimha Swamy temple, which is around 600 years old. This temple underwent kumbhabhishekam in 2008. There is also a mountain named (Thirumankaradu) located in the north end of Thammampatti having temples of great three religions- Lord Murugan, a Church and a Mosque situated together symbolizing the unity of people from different religions. Also there were many small village deities situated around the village named Ettadiyan, Periyasamy, Mariamman, Selliyamman, Ayyanaar. Sri Kanyakaparameswari Amman (Vasavi) Temple and Jamia Masjid are situated in Bazaar Street which praises the unity of the people. The village is surrounded under the foot of Kolli Hills in the West and Green Hills in the East.
