Texas Tech University Independent School District - Brazil Partnership

Brazil Partnership

TTUISD has had a decade-long partnership with Centro Educacional Leonardo Da Vinci school in Vitoria, Brazil. On Oct. 24, 2009, 41 students from Vitoria, Brazil, graduated with a Texas high school dual diploma without ever leaving the country.

This unique partnership began 10 years ago when the administrators of the Brazilian school were looking for a program in the United States that could meet the needs of their students. Since the inception of this program, approximately 200 students have graduated.

The partnership continues to grow. In February 2010 there were about 700 students enrolled in 11 schools throughout Brazil. During the past year, eight new schools teamed with Texas Tech University to add 200 new students to the program.

Famous quotes containing the word partnership:

Society is indeed a contract.... It is a partnership in all science; a partnership in all art; a partnership in every virtue, and in all perfection. As the ends of such a partnership cannot be obtained in many generations, it becomes a partnership not only between those who are living, but between those who are living, those who are dead, and those who are to be born.
    Edmund Burke (1729–1797)
