Route Description
Transmountain Road has many roadcuts which expose outcrops of Precambrian rocks, which are some of the oldest in Texas. Units exposed include:
- Red Bluff Granite
- Castner Marble
- Mundy Breccia
- Lanoria Formation
- Thunderbird Group (large roadcut at Smuggler's Pass)
