Texas State Highway 121

Texas State Highway 121

State Highway 121, locally known as 121 as well as other local names, is a diagonal state highway, angling from southwest to northeast through north central Texas. It runs from downtown Fort Worth, Texas at the junction of Interstate 35W to Bonham, Texas, just north of a junction with U.S. Highway 82.

Between Fort Worth and Euless, SH 121 is known as the Airport Freeway (east of Euless, this name applies to SH 183). Between Grapevine and Coppell, it is known as the International Parkway. East of Coppell, the highway acts as the frontage road of the Sam Rayburn Tollway, a tolled freeway that runs northeast to McKinney. From McKinney to Melissa, the state highway is multiplexed with US 75 and the North Central Expressway. Northeast of here, SH 121 is a smaller road referred to in some places as the Sam Rayburn Highway.

Famous quotes containing the words texas, state and/or highway:

Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word. And there’s an opening convey of generalities. A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner.
    John Steinbeck (1902–1968)

Art is identical with a state of capacity to make, involving a true course of reasoning. All art is concerned with coming into being ... for art is concerned neither with things that are, or come into being, by necessity, nor with things that do so in accordance with nature.
    Aristotle (384–323 B.C.)

The improved American highway system ... isolated the American-in-transit. On his speedway ... he had no contact with the towns which he by-passed. If he stopped for food or gas, he was served no local fare or local fuel, but had one of Howard Johnson’s nationally branded ice cream flavors, and so many gallons of Exxon. This vast ocean of superhighways was nearly as free of culture as the sea traversed by the Mayflower Pilgrims.
    Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
