Terry Sanford's sports teams play under the name "Bulldogs". The school has 17 varsity teams which compete in the Mid South Conference of Cumberland County. As a former member of the Mid South Conference of Cumberland County, which included many of the schools in the current Mid Southeastern Conference, Terry Sanford's sports teams compete mostly against local schools but also play teams from around the state. Many of the school's athletic teams including the soccer and football teams compete in "Bulldog Stadium".
