  • 1898 The station opens as Tanbaichi Station of Nara Railways
  • 1905 The station becomes the part of Kansai Railway
  • 1907 Becomes part of Japanese Government Railways (predecessor of JNR)
  • 1915 Tenri Narrow Railway expands to Tenri
  • 1921 Tenri Narrow Railway merges with Osaka Electric Railway (predecessor of Kintetsu)
  • 1941 OER and Sangu Kyuko Railway merges
  • 1944 Kankyu Tenri station becomes Kintetsu Tenri Station
  • 1963 JNR Tanbaichi Station becomes Tenrishi Station
  • 1965 The Sakurai Line is elevated, and both stations merges into one
  • 1987 JNR becomes JR West
  • 2007 Kintetsu Tenri starts using PiTaPa
