The Tennessee dace would benefit from being reintroduced into Great Smoky Mountains National Park and other protected areas. Fish reared at Conservation Fishereies Inc. would be good candidates to be reintroduced into protected streams. Land use practices (such as agriculture and human development) need to be reduced or eliminated around native streams. Simple tasks such as building siltation fences or planting riparion habitat around streams would reduce siltation. Lastly, mining near streams needs to be completely eliminated.
