Many Telcel customers complain about the poor quality of customer service they receive whether it is over the phone, or at the store. Complaints are mostly regarding long wait times, hidden fees or charges, unreasonable rates, and billing errors.
Complaints filed with the Mexican Consumer Protection Bureau (PROFECO) numbered 3,078 during 2008, with a little over $1,600,000 MXN (A little over $120,000 USD) incurred in fines.
