Awards and Commemoration

  • In 1985, Kollek was awarded the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade.
  • In 1988, he was awarded the Israel Prize for his special contribution to society and the State of Israel.
  • In 2001, he was honoured with the title of Honorary Citizen of Vienna.

Teddy Stadium in Malha, Jerusalem, is named for him.

In 2005, he was voted the 88th-greatest Israeli of all time, in a poll by the Israeli news website Ynet to determine whom the general public considered the 200 Greatest Israelis.
