Technical University Of Liberec
The Technical University of Liberec is a public university in Liberec, Czech Republic has undergone significant transformation in its history of almost sixty years. It was founded as the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, with its original classrooms being located in the attic of the F.X. Šalda Grammar School. In 1960, the college was divided into two faculties, namely Mechanical Engineering and Textile Engineering thus renamed as ‘The Institute of Mechanical and Textile Engineering’, it held this name through the revolution in 1989. However, on January 1, 1995, it was renamed as Technical University of Liberec. Today the university has an enrolment of more than 9,000 students across six faculties and one institute: the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Textile Engineering, Faculty of Sciences, Humanities and Education, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Faculty of Mechatronics, Informatics and Interdisciplinary Studies, and the Institute of Health Studies.
