Taungup or Toungup Township (Burmese: တောင်ကုတ်မြို့နယ်) is a township of Thandwe District in the Rakhine State of Myanmar. The principal town is Taungup.
10 Muslims were killed during a riot at there in June 2012 after increasing tension between Muslims and Rakhine upon a Rakhine girl was gang raped and murdered allegedly by 3 Muslims near Ramree in May 2012.
