Tanjung Karang - Historic Building

Historic Building

There is an old historic building left without care by any party which is located at Kg Sungai Kajang. It is believed that the building was at one time a palm sugar processing plant and built during the colonial period. During the Second World War, the factory was captured and used as a Japanese military base. There are some effects of the ravages of battle that can still be seen up to now. Today, only a small portion of the structure is still maintained while almost the entire plant has been destroyed, whether caused by agriculture or land development.

Famous quotes containing the words historic and/or building:

It is, all in all, a historic error to believe that the master makes the school; the students make it!
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)

The real dividing line between early childhood and middle childhood is not between the fifth year and the sixth year—it is more nearly when children are about seven or eight, moving on toward nine. Building the barrier at six has no psychological basis. It has come about only from the historic-economic-political fact that the age of six is when we provide schools for all.
James L. Hymes, Jr. (20th century)
