Taiwan Sugar Corporation (台灣糖業公司) or Taisugar (台糖) is a state-run enterprise in Tainan City, Taiwan.
The corporation was created in 1946, following Kuomintang's entrance to Taiwan, by merging all sugar companies (Dai-Nihon, Taiwan, Meiji and Ensuiko Sugar Company) in Taiwan. In the 1950s and 1960s, sugar was one of Taiwan's major exports; the corporation remains a major land owner.
Taiwan's sugar trade, which flourished for almost 400 years, is now a sunset industry, and the Taiwan Sugar Corporation has diversified into tourism, floriculture, biotechnology, and retailing. It also operates a chain of gas stations, and is an investor in the Taiwan High Speed Rail.
