Stations and Connections
Thirteen Taiwan High Speed Rail stations were planned in the western corridor, with eight stations already open. One more, Nangang Station, is under construction for an January 2015 opening, while three more are scheduled to open in June 2015. These four stations are expected to increase passenger numbers by 5%.
To improve local public transit connections to THSR stations, the TRA built two new spur lines branching off from its Western Line.
- Shalun Line for Tainan opened on January 2, 2011,
- Liujia Line for Hsinchu opened on November 11, 2011.

Famous quotes containing the words stations and, stations and/or connections:
“I cant quite define my aversion to asking questions of strangers. From snatches of family battles which I have heard drifting up from railway stations and street corners, I gather that there are a great many men who share my dislike for it, as well as an equal number of women who ... believe it to be the solution to most of this worlds problems.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
“After I was married a year I remembered things like radio stations and forgot my husband.”
—P. J. Wolfson, John L. Balderston (18991954)
“... feminism is a political term and it must be recognized as such: it is political in womens terms. What are these terms? Essentially it means making connections: between personal power and economic power, between domestic oppression and labor exploitation, between plants and chemicals, feelings and theories; it means making connections between our inside worlds and the outside world.”
—Anica Vesel Mander, U.S. author and feminist, and Anne Kent Rush (b. 1945)
