Syngeneic Stem Cell Transplantation

Syngeneic stem cell transplantation is a procedure in which a patient receives blood-forming stem cells (cells from which all blood cells develop) donated by his or her healthy identical twin.

Famous quotes containing the words stem and/or cell:

Apples? New Hampshire has them, but unsprayed,
With no suspicion in stem end or blossom end
Of vitriol or arsenate of lead,
And so not good for anything but cider.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

A cell for prayer, a hall for joy,—
They treated nature as they would.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
