Foreign Academic and Technical Collaborations
With increasing internationalization of education and more at the university level, there is a strong compulsion to promote interaction, especially with institutions of higher education in the industrial countries. Such interaction provides access to an ever changing scenario of a modern education delivery system and the most up to date innovative development in teaching and learning methodology. Recognizing this to be imperative, SIU has already initiated a number of collaborative programs with universities in the USA, Australia, Canada, and UK. The American corner, a joint venture of SIU and the American embassy, is a unique attraction of SIU. Membership is open to all. Members get the benefits of a rich library, computer, Internet access, materials for TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT and guides for study with scholarship in USA.

Famous quotes containing the words foreign, academic and/or technical:
“Meanwhile I, deserted, was lamenting a little to myself your long delays in foreign loves, until sleep with its pleasing wings compelled me, fallen.”
—Propertius Sextus (c. 5016 B.C.)
“If twins are believed to be less intelligent as a class than single-born children, it is not surprising that many times they are also seen as ripe for social and academic problems in school. No one knows the extent to which these kind of attitudes affect the behavior of multiples in school, and virtually nothing is known from a research point of view about social behavior of twins over the age of six or seven, because this hasnt been studied either.”
—Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)
“The axioms of physics translate the laws of ethics. Thus, the whole is greater than its part; reaction is equal to action; the smallest weight may be made to lift the greatest, the difference of weight being compensated by time; and many the like propositions, which have an ethical as well as physical sense. These propositions have a much more extensive and universal sense when applied to human life, than when confined to technical use.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
