Syd Barrett (album) - Cover

Cover

During the summer of 1965, Barrett had his first acid trip in the garden of friend, Dave Gale, with Ian Moore and Storm Thorgerson. While on the influence of the acid, Barrett had placed an orange, plum and a matchbox into a corner, while staring at the fruit, which he claimed symbolized "Venus and Jupiter". Thorgerson later used this imagery, by adding the previously mentioned items to the cover of Syd Barrett.

Famous quotes containing the word cover:

Again we have here two distinctions that are no distinctions, but made to seem so by terms invented by I know not whom to cover ignorance, and blind the understanding of the reader: for it cannot be conceived that there is any liberty greater, than for a man to do what he will.
    Thomas Hobbes (1579–1688)

When you are listening to music it is better to cover your eyes than your ears.
    José Bergamín (1895–1983)

    Though the whole wind
    slash at your bark,
    you are lifted up,
    aye though it hiss
    to cover you with froth.
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)
