Famous quotes containing the words well-known and/or artists:
“Of old all invitations ended
With the well-known R.S.V.P.,
But now our laws have been amended
The hostess writes B.Y.O.B.”
—Christopher Morley (1890–1957)
“The artistic temperament is a disease that affects amateurs.... Artists of a large and wholesome vitality get rid of their art easily, as they breathe easily or perspire easily. —Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)
