Hennes & Mauritz was found in 1947 in Västerås named "Hennes" by Erling Persson. Ever since it has grown to become one of the biggest clothing-companies in the world with over 2,300 stores in 41 countries around the globe. It's also available for shipping from its online shop at hm.com. It has got around 87,000 employees around the world too.

H&M is known for its fast fashion available for all women, men, children and teens. It's also known for its many collaborations with exclusive high-fashion brands. Among the years labels such as Viktor & Rolf, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, Comme des Garçons, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeldt and Matthew Williamson. The brand has also cooperated with music-artists such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue to produce collections of clothing.

In 2011 the brand had its first collaboration with a fashion blogger; Elin Kling. The collection consisted of a few stylish clean-cut outfits very significant to Elin's style. The collection was sold at chosen stores only. The brand also made a collaboration with Italian fashion house Versace public this year.

Apart from clothing the company also sells cosmetics and home-textiles.
