Sweden Democratic Youth

Sweden Democratic Youth

Sweden Democrat Youth (Sverigedemokratisk Ungdom, SDU) is the youth league of the Swedish political party Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna).

The youth league was initially founded in 1993 as an independent youth league to its parent party. The original name was Sverigedemokraternas Ungdomsförbund, but the organization was fairly quickly renamed to Sverigedemokratisk Ungdom. The youth league was for a time abandoned by the parent party, but was again formed as an independent organization in 1998.

Famous quotes containing the words democratic youth, democratic and/or youth:

The democratic youth ... lives along day by day, gratifying the desire that occurs to him, at one time drinking and listening to the flute, at another downing water and reducing, now practising gymnastic, and again idling and neglecting everything; and sometimes spending his time as though he were occupied in philosophy.
    Plato (c. 427–347 B.C.)

It’s like pushing marbles through a sieve. It means the sieve will never be the same again.
—Before the 1972 Democratic Convention in Miami. As quoted in Crazy Salad, ch. 6, by Nora Ephron (1972)

... though it is by no means requisite that the American women should emulate the men in the pursuit of the whale, the felling of the forest, or the shooting of wild turkeys, they might, with advantage, be taught in early youth to excel in the race, to hit a mark, to swim, and in short to use every exercise which could impart vigor to their frames and independence to their minds.
    Frances Wright (1795–1852)
