SVG Advisers, the firm's fund management operation, is composed of SVG Private Equity, which makes investments in private equity funds and to a lesser extent private companies, and SVG Public Equity which invests in listed companies.

SVG Private Equity has utilized collateralized fund obligation securitizations as part of its "Diamond" program, SVG Diamond (2004), SVG Diamond II (2006) and SVG Diamond III (2007) in order to raise capital for its private equity investments. These vehicles act as fund of funds however are not structured as traditional private equity fund vehicles.

SVG Private Equity has significant investments in private equity funds managed by Permira, which comprise over half of the firm's portfolio by value.
