Star Trek Involvement

Susan Gibney has a history of involvement in the Star Trek TV series, some of it behind the scenes. She appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation as Dr. Leah Brahms and on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in the episodes "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost", as Erika Benteen. She was strongly considered for the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager, but the studio rejected her as being too young. Famous quotes containing the words star and/or involvement:

My advice to those who think they have to take off their clothes to be a star is, once you’re boned, what’s left to create the illusion? Let ‘em wonder. I never believed in givin’ them too much of me.
    Mae West (1892–1980)

Juggling produces both practical and psychological benefits.... A woman’s involvement in one role can enhance her functioning in another. Being a wife can make it easier to work outside the home. Being a mother can facilitate the activities and foster the skills of the efficient wife or of the effective worker. And employment outside the home can contribute in substantial, practical ways to how one works within the home, as a spouse and as a parent.
    Faye J. Crosby (20th century)
