Alignment and Stations

The first MRT Line covers a span of 51 kilometres from downtown Sungai Buloh to the Kajang town, passing the Kuala Lumpur city centre in an underground setting. The line will be serving a conurbation of 1.2 million people residing in the Klang Valley region from north-west to the south-west of Kuala Lumpur. According to MRT Corp, the four-coaches trains with the capacity of 1,200 passengers will be in place to serve some 400,000 passengers per day.

There will be 31 stations along the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line with 7 stations located at the designated underground railway system for a distance of 9.5 kilometres.

The stations announced by MRT Corp on its official website are listed as below in order. All the station names are interim and subject to change.

13 KL Sentral Underground Interchange station to Kelana Jaya Line, KL Monorail, KTM Komuter and ERL. The station is located near the National Museum (Muzium Negara) and linked to the KL Sentral transport hub by pedestrian walkway.
14 Pasar Seni Underground Interchange station to Kelana Jaya Line. Walking distance to Pos Malaysia Berhad building and Kuala Lumpur KTM Komuter railway station. There also bus hubs below this station that connects buses from Kuala Lumpur to Petaling Jaya. Connecting to the Central Market (Pasar Seni).
15 Merdeka Underground Interchange station to Ampang Line (Plaza Rakyat station). Located nearby a proposed skyscraper named Warisan Merdeka, the future tallest building in Malaysia.
16 Bukit Bintang Central Underground Interchange station to KL Monorail (Bukit Bintang station). An underground pedestrian walkway will also be built to connect some iconic building in the region including Pavilion KL, Starhill Gallery and Fahrenheit 88 shopping malls.
