Sully Erna - Religion

Religion

Erna is a practicing Wiccan. His religion influences some of his songwriting to include the song "Spiral." He has stated publicly, however, that he "didn't want to be the poster boy for witchcraft", and does not necessarily capitalize on his religion for providing fame to the band. In fact, the issue of his religious beliefs never comes up unless he is asked in an interview. It is commonly misbelieved that the Godsmack song "Voodoo" is about his religious beliefs, but truly it is based on the movie The Serpent and the Rainbow.

Famous quotes containing the word religion:

There’s no reason to bring religion into it. I think we ought to have as great a regard for religion as we can, so as to keep it out of as many things as possible.
    Sean O’Casey (1884–1964)

Religion is this. They act as in religion that is to say they neither wait nor stay away. Religion is best as it is. If they like it at all they like it all, not only more than once but often.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

The only human beings I have thoroughly admired and respected in the world have been those who carried the load of the world with a smile, and who, in the face of anxieties that would have knocked me clean out, never showed a tremor. Such men and women end by owning us, soul and body, and our allegiance can never be shaken. We are only too glad to be owned. Religion is nothing but this.
    Henry Brooks Adams (1838–1918)
