This area is the geographical classification for an area belonging to ancient Israel and Judea. The area has been under Israeli control since the 1967 Six-Day War but not annexed by Israel, pending negotiations regarding its status. Many Israelis consider it part of the Land of Israel, but it is not considered part of the State of Israel by any nation or the UN.
