Strong Vincent High School - History

History

Construction began in 1928 and Strong Vincent opened for classes in the 1930’s. Originally named West High School. Later changed to honor General Strong Vincent, which was the first west side school of Erie. The school was dedicated in 1930 by the Rev. Boyd Vincent, brother of General Strong Vincent. The first class graduated in 1931.
