Aguilera started promotion of Stripped on August 29, 2002, when she played a piece of album's lead single "Dirrty" at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. On October 28, 2002, Aguilera performed "Beautiful" on the Late Show with David Letterman, wearing a black gown, a black fedora, and black heels. On November 1, 2002, Aguilera appeared on the Today Show where she performed a number of songs, inclluding: "Beautiful", "Impossible". On November 4, 2002, Aguilera was a guest on the The Daily Show promoting Stripped. She appeared on The View and performed "Beautiful" and "Impossible" later in the same week.
She performed "Dirrty" on MTV Europe Music Awards on November 14, 2002, reacreating the stage as a boxing ring while entering the stage riding a motorcycle and wearing the infamous assless chaps during the performance, as seen in the video. She also performed the song on T4 and Top of the Pops where she also gave a performance of the second single from the album "Beautiful". The same year she performed the song on VH1 Awards.
Aguilera performed "Beautiful" on the American Music Awards in January 13, 2003 alongside with the song "Impossible" which is a track from Stripped. On January 25, 2003 Aguilera gave a performance on the German television show Wetten, dass..? singing "Beautiful". Aguilera also gave a performance of the song on Saturday Night Live on March 15, 2003 where she also performed the third single from the album, "Fighter". This song also became the official anthem for the 2003 NBA Playoffs and was heard during the NBA Finals commercials. An official video was even shot for the NBA Finals featuring Aguilera doing choreography with her dancers on a basketball court. Aguilera performed "Dirrty" and "Fighter" on the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, on August 28, 2003, Aguilera also performed alongside with Madonna and Britney Spears during the ceremony a medley of the songs "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood", where Madonna kissed both Aguilera and Spears during the performance, making huge tabloid stories and fuss from the public, and marking it as one of the most iconic performances from the MTV Video Music Awards history.
In 2004 Aguilera performed "Beautiful" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the same year on January 16, 2004 on Late Show with David Letterman performing "Walk Away" a track from Stripped. On February 8, 2004 Aguilera performed "Beautiful" on the Grammy Awards, where she also won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song. During the promotion of the album, Aguilera was featured on numerous magazines, including: Maxim, CosmoGirl!, Glamour and Rolling Stones, which was highly controversial due the fact that Aguilera is bare naked with only a guitar to cover her up.
