Strength Level

Strength level is a concept sometimes applied to comic book characters (particularly those published by Marvel Comics) to define and compare the physical strength of characters.

Within the Marvel Universe the heroes are described as being Class X, where X is the number of Tons that the hero can routinely lift. Usually rounded to certain numbers such as 1, 2, 5, 10, etc. With Class 1000 being more vague and including any beings of extreme to virtually infinite strength. Below 'Class 1' are the ranks of '1000 lb.' and 'Pinnacle Human' which is loosely defined as 650-800 lb. strength capacity, as well as 'Upper Human Level' for any character weaker than 'Pinnacle Human' but still described as strong in the corresponding publication.

Famous quotes containing the words strength and/or level:

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
    —Bible: Hebrew Psalms 90:10.

The Book of Common Prayer (1662)

We never exchange more than three words with a Friend in our lives on that level to which our thoughts and feelings almost habitually rise.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
