In the Film 'Kitty Foyle' (1940) Strega plays a role in the plot, described by Wyn Strafford (the main love interest) as an Italian made spirit that is to be enjoyed after a romantic meal. Wyn claims that Strega has an effect on lovers who share the drink; claiming that "Once you drink Strega together, you will never drink it apart"
In the film Made (2001), Vince Vaughn's character, Ricky, orders a Strega when he and Bobby (Jon Favreau) meet up with Ruiz (Sean Combs). Ruiz says, "It's midnight and this motherfucker is ordering an aperitif." "Actually, with all due respect, it--Strega, that is--is a digestif," replies Ricky. The old restaurant owner butts in, "Uh, Strega...is an aperitif." Ironically, Ricky is right, in spite of himself.

Famous quotes containing the word film:
“Is America a land of God where saints abide for ever? Where golden fields spread fair and broad, where flows the crystal river? Certainly not flush with saints, and a good thing, too, for the saints sent buzzing into mans ken now are but poor- mouthed ecclesiastical film stars and cliché-shouting publicity agents.
Their little knowledge bringing them nearer to their ignorance,
Ignorance bringing them nearer to death,
But nearness to death no nearer to God.”
—Sean OCasey (18841964)
