"Strawberry Letter 23" is the fifth single from R&B singer Tevin Campbell's debut album T.E.V.I.N.. The song didn't gain much charts success as it did for The Brothers Johnson or as much success as Tevin's previous hits only peaking at #53 on the Hot 100 and #40 on the R&B charts. Two of the main differences between the original and the Tevin Campbell remake is that (1) Campbell's version is more up-tempo, and (2) his version also includes a rap that mentions "the letter 23."

Famous quotes containing the words campbell and/or version:
“And the sentinel stars set their watch in the sky;”
—Thomas Campbell (17741844)
“Truth cannot be defined or tested by agreement with the world; for not only do truths differ for different worlds but the nature of agreement between a world apart from it is notoriously nebulous. Ratherspeaking loosely and without trying to answer either Pilates question or Tarskisa version is to be taken to be true when it offends no unyielding beliefs and none of its own precepts.”
—Nelson Goodman (b. 1906)
