Stratospheric Processes and Their Role in Climate

Stratospheric Processes And their Role in Climate (SPARC) is a core project of the World Climate Research Programme.

Because of the important role, which stratospheric processes play for the earth's climate system the World Climate Research Programme established this research project. The main goal of the project is to help the stratospheric research community focus on the issues of particular interest to climate.

Famous quotes containing the words processes, role and/or climate:

It has become a people’s war, and peoples of all sorts and races, of every degree of power and variety of fortune, are involved in its sweeping processes of change and settlement.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

Whatever we’re doing, whoever we are, it isn’t enough. . . . Little wonder we have trouble finding role models to guide us through these shoals. No one less than God Herself could be all the things we’d like to be to all the people we’d like to feel approval from.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)

A tree is beautiful, but what’s more, it has a right to life; like water, the sun and the stars, it is essential. Life on earth is inconceivable without trees. Forests create climate, climate influences peoples’ character, and so on and so forth. There can be neither civilization nor happiness if forests crash down under the axe, if the climate is harsh and severe, if people are also harsh and severe.... What a terrible future!
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)
