Strange House - Psychotic Sounds For Freaks and Weirdos

Psychotic Sounds For Freaks and Weirdos

The album subtitle 'Psychotic Sounds for Freaks and Weirdos', was created by two fans from the official Horrors forum. The band's lead singer, Faris Badwan asked fans on The Horum to suggest a name for their then yet-to-be-released album, before the title was finalised. The tag line 'Psychotic Sounds for Freaks and Weirdos' is not only a subtitle to the album, but was used on all promotional material for Strange House. It is considered that Strange House is named after The Attack's song of the same name.

Famous quotes containing the words psychotic, sounds and/or freaks:

Doubt is to certainty as neurosis is to psychosis. The neurotic is in doubt and has fears about persons and things; the psychotic has convictions and makes claims about them. In short, the neurotic has problems, the psychotic has solutions.
    Thomas Szasz (b. 1920)

While we were thus engaged in the twilight, we heard faintly, from far down the stream, what sounded like two strokes of a woodchopper’s axe, echoing dully through the grim solitude.... When we told Joe of this, he exclaimed, “By George, I’ll bet that was a moose! They make a noise like that.” These sounds affected us strangely, and by their very resemblance to a familiar one, where they probably had so different an origin, enhanced the impression of solitude and wildness.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

There’s a quality of legend about freaks. Like a person in a fairy tale who stops you and demands that you answer a riddle. Most people go through life dreading they’ll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They’ve already passed their test in life. They’re aristocrats.
    Diane Arbus (1923–1971)
