Abraham Stott and Son

Abraham Stott and Son was a separate company, set up by Abraham a cousin of Abraham Henthorn Stott. This was a cotton spinning company operating Osborne mill. Abraham has a reputation for fairness so was nicknamed 'Honest Abe'. He invested in a clipper ship that traded with the confederacy during the Cotton famine, it was captured by the Union forces.
