Stockholm School of Theology

The Stockholm School of Theology (Teologiska Högskolan i Stockholm) is an independent school for theology in Stockholm, Sweden, sponsored by the two free church denominations the Baptist Union of Sweden and the Mission Covenant Church of Sweden.

The institution has been accredited by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education to award tertiary degrees in the field of Theology (teologie kandidat, Bachelor of Divinity).

The school declares an ecumenical ambition and students include future pastors in the two sponsoring denominations, but also a sizable group training for clerical positions in the Church of Sweden, as well as others.

Famous quotes containing the words stockholm, school and/or theology:

He was begotten in the galley and born under a gun. Every hair was a rope yarn, every finger a fish-hook, every tooth a marline-spike, and his blood right good Stockholm tar.
    Naval epitaph.

We are all adult learners. Most of us have learned a good deal more out of school than in it. We have learned from our families, our work, our friends. We have learned from problems resolved and tasks achieved but also from mistakes confronted and illusions unmasked. . . . Some of what we have learned is trivial: some has changed our lives forever.
    Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)

Only men of moral and mental force, of a patriotic regard for the relationship of the two races, can be of real service as ministers in the South. Less theology and more of human brotherhood, less declamation and more common sense and love for truth, must be the qualifications of the new ministry that shall yet save the race from the evils of false teaching.
    Fannie Barrier Williams (1855–1944)
