Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship - History

History

The school's origin can be traced back to several courses taught at the Royal Institute of Technology and the Stockholm School of Economics in the 1990s.

SSES was founded by the Royal Institute of Technology, the Stockholm School of Economics and Karolinska Institutet to develop an integrated teaching syllabus.

A donation from the Erling-Persson Family Foundation allowed the school to establish itself as an independent organisation in August 1999. This was followed by another donation from the foundation in 2002, which made it possible for the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design to become the fourth member institution. And in 2009, the year that Stockholm University joined SSES, a further donation was received from the Erling-Persson Family Foundation.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

The history of reform is always identical; it is the comparison of the idea with the fact. Our modes of living are not agreeable to our imagination. We suspect they are unworthy. We arraign our daily employments.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

There is nothing truer than myth: history, in its attempt to “realize” myth, distorts it, stops halfway; when history claims to have “succeeded” this is nothing but humbug and mystification. Everything we dream is “realizable.” Reality does not have to be: it is simply what it is.
    Eugène Ionesco (b. 1912)

The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
