Personal Life

Fielding is a Christian and attends CityLife Church, a large Pentecostal church in Melbourne. On the ABC television programme Q&A he admitted to being a creationist but would not answer whether or not he believes that the Earth is less than 10,000 years old. Fielding and his wife Susan have three children, James, Campbell and Gabrielle. He has claimed that he was sexually abused by a scoutmaster and family friend for two years during his teenage years. No-one has been charged or prosecuted for the alleged offences.

Famous quotes containing the words personal life, personal and/or life:

Wherever the State touches the personal life of the infant, the child, the youth, or the aged, helpless, defective in mind, body or moral nature, there the State enters “woman’s peculiar sphere,” her sphere of motherly succor and training, her sphere of sympathetic and self-sacrificing ministration to individual lives.
    Anna Garlin Spencer (1851–1931)

The primary imperative for women who intend to assume a meaningful and decisive role in today’s social change is to begin to perceive themselves as having an identity and personal integrity that has as strong a claim for being preserved intact as that of any other individual or group.
    Margaret Adams (b. 1916)

Thou gav’st me life, but mortal; for that one
    Favour I’ll make full satisfaction:
For my life mortal, rise from out thy hearse,
And take a life immortal from my verse.
    Robert Herrick (1591–1674)
